One laptop per child programme realized in Maputaland

Learners from Esibonisweni Primary are more than fortunate by receiving 100 computers from Americans. This initiative was initiated by Jennifer Gertz from Saintmarks School in USA. Jubilee Tembe the schoolheadmaster has been fortunate to receive donations which are now mounting to R1.5 million whereby Classrooms, Media Centre, Computer lab and also Food parcels has been donated since 2003. The effort of the Americans who have been visiting the school quite often has resulted towards attainment of computer skills at a very earliest age of learners. He is also heading for USA on the 17 October 2008 whereby he will be enticing the Americans to also extend their support to other schools in Maputaland. He will be addressing Headmaster in the USA about the importance of funding education in this deserted areas like ours.

These laptops are user friendly and they have the following:- Camera, Connected to the Internet, Chatting devices, Spreadsheet, and many other useful programme for learners. Our learners would be highly exposed to latest technology and this would also bring about better education. One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) programme has been realized through Saintmarks School which is a sister school of Esibonisweni. More schools would soon be benefiting from this programme.
