Manguzi Forest animals are about to reach extinction

Manguzi Forests used to host more than 500 monkeys. These monkeys are now the story of the past. Some local people normally smear poison on Amabungwa (Red Monkey fruit) and Paw paw to trap them. When asked why do they trap them in this way. They responded by saying that it is the most easiest way of traping and shortly after the Monkey has been killed by this poison they simply remove the intestines and eat the rest of the meat.

Those who trap them they are from Mozambique and they are used to this fatal way of trapping animals. Law enforcement in Mozambique on nature is no more friendly that is why they have now migrited to Manguzi Forest to destroy nature.

When asked why do they do this, they said they do it to fill their empty bellies.

20 years ago Manguzi Forest was a custodian of Bush Pigs, Imisumpe (red duiker) and also Pythons due to hunting we do not have them anymore. Pythons cannot be seen anymore.

Pythons have been hunted by our local Traditional healers. All these animals have never been a treat to us.

We are not against hunting since it is our traditional way of living but let us save our rare species.

KwaPhuza as some of local resident know, wild animals meat is sold and I doubt it is healthy since most animals are killed through being poisoned.

Be careful do not just buy meat from KwaPhuza ungazi ukuthi ibulawe kanjani cause that might have detrimental effects on your health. It is so dangerous.

It is likely that in the next 10 years we see living animals in the zoo we do not take up arms to fight against this.
